Chapter 5 - Yosemite to Lake Tahoe

We left the beautiful camp site at Grovelands, after the women, (of course), had done all the chores, including some serious windscreen washing. This is not a feat to be taken lightly on a large motor home.

The route was very pretty, with banks of wildflowers along the way, particularly an abundance of California poppies. An interesting town that we passed through was at Sutter Creek where the locals had strings of ‘washing’ across the street. Not just any old washing but clothes that would have been worn by the townspeople at least a hundred years before. It was a quirky touch.

Much of the drive was along the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and then up beside the mountain stream, draining from Lake Tahoe. It was all very picturesque.
