Linda and Peter's trip around the Lindsey Trail

The Lindsey Trail

The Lindsey Trail is a long distance circular multi-user route through the Lincolnshire Wolds. It extends from Market Rasen to Horncastle. The route is suitable for carriage drivers, horse riders, cyclists and walkers. The initial idea for the Trail came from local carriage drivers who have worked in partnership with the Mid-Lincs Local Access Forum and Lincolnshire County Council to develop it

The start

On a nice sunny day in September Linda and Peter decided to take on the southern loop of the Lindsey Trail

This Trail used mainly small single track tarmac roads with 2 off road sections and a fun ford. One of the tarmac roads was gated so was very quiet and the gates both ends were closed. Most of the tarmac roads had wide verges on one or both sides, but not all. There had been a dry spell of weather before we did this on 22 Sept 2015 so don’t know if the track conditions were average or good.

There were gates to cross

Peter and I had gates to mavigate

Enjoyable bit of off roading

The trail is 69 miles 22 of which are off road
